Michael Stillman, AIF®, Named to “Best Wealth Managers List”

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Michael Stillman, Senior Vice President at International Research & Asset Management, was named by his peers in the October 2010 issue of D Magazine as one of the Best Wealth Managers in Dallas-Fort Worth.

According to D Magazine, each nominee had to have a minimum of five years’ financial services experience, practiced a minimum of three years with the same company, and at least $60 million in assets under management. D Magazine then checked the nominees’ standings with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and the Securities and Exchange Commission to ensure that they have acceptable compliance records. None of the professionals paid for representation on D Magazine’s list. The resulting list includes 100 wealth managers.

Michael has twenty-five years experience in wealth management and 401(k) retirement plan stewardship. He specializes in helping individuals preserve and grow irreplaceable capital based on their unique set of circumstances. Michael also helps plan sponsor clients evaluate service providers, eliminate costly conflicts, and substantially enhance the overall plan effectiveness. Michael accepts responsibility as a fiduciary for clients’ investment outcomes. He works exclusively for his clients and does not accept compensation from third parties.

Michael has been awarded the Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) designation by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is a member of the AICPA Personal Financial Planning Section and the Texas Society of CPAs. Michael has also earned the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) professional designation, awarded by the Center for Fiduciary Studies, which is associated with the University of Pittsburgh’s Center for Executive Education. He received his BBA and Master of Accountancy degrees from the University of Mississippi. Michael’s opinions and fiduciary insights have been quoted in MarketWatch, BenefitsLink, and other media sources.

I specialize as a 401(k) named fiduciary for plan sponsors who need to outsource their fiduciary duties. I quarterback the process and elevate investment committees to expert stewards in spite of the financial chicanery that dominates the industry. Early in my career I worked as a suitability investment adviser (more commonly known as a broker) for Prudential Securities, PaineWebber and Dean Witter where I was promoted to First Vice President and earned President's Council and Pacesetter Club recognition.
